Special Education Art Program at Wallace Elementary School in Hoboken, NJ
I have been teaching at Wallace Elementary School in Hoboken since January 2016. I started as a substitute teacher and in the summer of 2021 became the art teacher for the special education department. My students range from pre-k to 5th grade. We explore color, lines, shapes, assorted materials and of course the masters.
I have also taught in the afterschool enrichment programs, Passport to Learning and Leap into Summer at Wallace. I have taught mixed media arts, fairytale theater, and Art Exploration for Urban Arts at Wallace.
It has been a rewarding experience. My extensive background in graphic design helps me create fun, colorful and interesting projects for my students to complete.
Below is a gallery showing some of the art projects we have done together. Some are cut paper and others use paint, cardboard, crayons, markers and much more.
